Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 18, 2026
EZ Continuing Education (“we,” “us,” “our”) provides an online platform that helps qualified medical evaluators and other professionals study for continuing-education examinations. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our website or mobile application, how we use it, when we share it, and the choices you have.
By creating an account or using the service you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please stop using the service.
1. Information we collect
1.1 Information you provide directly
- Account details — full name, email address, and a password (stored only as a one-way hash; we never see or store your plaintext password).
- Email verification code — a six-digit code we send to your email during sign-up. It is stored as a one-way hash, expires within minutes, and is deleted immediately after use.
- Reviews and messages — any course review text, quiz answers, in-app announcements you post, or messages you send an instructor.
- Profile photo (optional) — if you upload one.
1.2 Information generated as you use the service
- Progress data — which lessons you have completed, quiz attempts and scores, flashcard decks you have studied, and the timestamps of those activities.
- Enrollment records — which courses you have access to and, for paid courses, the period your access covers.
- Session tokens — cookies (on the web) and secure device storage (in the mobile app) used to keep you signed in.
- Technical logs — IP address, browser or device type, and standard server logs generated when you interact with our servers. We use these solely for security, debugging, and fraud prevention.
1.3 Information we do NOT collect
- Credit card, bank account, or other financial information. Our servers never receive or store any financial data.
- Precise location. We do not request or use GPS-level location data.
- Advertising identifiers. We do not run any third-party advertising in the app.
2. How we use the information
We use the information above to:
- Create and secure your account.
- Deliver courses, track your progress, and let you resume from where you left off.
- Send you transactional emails — the email-verification code at sign-up and instructor announcements about courses you are enrolled in.
- Show instructors a roster of the students enrolled in their own courses, including your name, email, progress percentage, and quiz pass rate.
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our terms of service.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your data to serve advertising, sell it to data brokers, or train any machine-learning model.
3. When we share information
We only share your data with a small set of vetted service providers, and only for the specific purposes listed:
- Brevo (Sendinblue) — to deliver our transactional emails (verification codes and notifications).
- Amazon Web Services — our primary hosting and database provider. Your data lives on AWS servers in the United States.
- Instructors — the instructor of a course you enroll in can see your name, email, enrollment date, progress, and quiz results for their course (and only their course).
- Law enforcement or regulators — only when required by valid legal process, and only the minimum data necessary.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for marketing purposes.
4. How long we keep your data
- Account data — kept while your account is active. If you delete your account, all personal data (profile, progress) is deleted within 30 days.
- Email verification codes — deleted immediately after verification or expiry.
- Server logs — retained for 30 days, then automatically purged.
5. How we protect your data
- All traffic to and from our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS / TLS 1.2 or higher).
- Passwords are stored using industry-standard one-way hashing; they are never recoverable in plaintext, even by us.
- Database access is restricted to a small number of authorized administrators, using unique credentials.
No system is ever completely secure. If we discover a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you without undue delay and, where required by law, notify the relevant regulator.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct any inaccuracies (you can edit most fields yourself in your profile settings).
- Delete your account and associated data.
- Export a copy of your data in a machine-readable format.
- Withdraw consent for non-essential processing (for example, if you have opted in to marketing emails, you can opt out at any time).
- Object to certain uses of your data.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at perry@ezcontinuingeducation.com. We will respond within 30 days.
7. Children
This platform is designed for adult professionals preparing for continuing-education examinations. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it as quickly as possible.
8. International users
Our servers are located in the United States. If you use the service from outside the United States, your data will be transferred to and processed on servers in the U.S. By creating an account you consent to this transfer.
9. Cookies and similar technologies
On the web, we use a small number of essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. We do not use cookies for advertising or third-party analytics beyond the server-side logs described above. The mobile app stores an equivalent session token in the operating system’s secure storage rather than in a cookie.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make a material change we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, if the change affects how we handle data you have already provided, we will email registered users at their sign-up address before the change takes effect.
11. Contact us
